I have three kids, so it goes without saying that I shop a lot online. I love that I can do it in my PJs at night without the kids whining that they want to go home. And you can save quite a bit of money with online shopping. Online shopping could sometimes be scary however, simply because you never quite know what you are going to get, and I hate wasting money on things I don’t love. So next time before you shop online, here are a few things you should consider doing:
.) Read The Reviews. I trust reviews! With online shopping, many things are different. You aren’t there in person to feel it, try it on or test it out, but the people who write reviews have. The thing about reviews is that people who spend their time and energy writing a review will almost always tell the honest truth. Sometimes the reviews are good, other times they are bad. But that is what reviews are about after all. If you see a lot of good reviews, then you can consider yourself to be in safe hands, but be careful with the items that have nearly as bad reviews as good or even more. Most online places (like ebay or etsy) have a rating system, make sure they are rated high. It’s important.
.) Make sure you read the Info. I ordered some fabric a few weeks ago from an online shop and I just assumed it was normal fabric size, but it wasn’t. I ended up with fabric that was much smaller than I wanted. Always read the details , sizes, uses and instructions.
.) Double Check The Shipping Prices. I think most things are great deals until I get to the part where I have to decide on the shipping cost and handling. That is where most companies get you! Some sites (like Wal-Mart) offer free shipping and that often saves the customer a lot of money.
.) Return Policy. While you are reading all the info about the item you are buying, double check the return policy. It is important that you are able to return your item either in exchange for another one or to get cash back. Sometimes, the purchase just doesn’t work out. Don’t keep it unless you love it!
